Project Type: Civil
Scope of Work: Shooting Range Construction
Located in Fort Riley, KS, this project consisted of a KDR & QTR Range. The Known Distance Range (KDR) is a standard design, thirty-two lane 300 x 1000 meter down-range target area with an up-range operations control area (ROCA). The KDR range provides fire-tight shot groups at known distances, sight adjustments at range while experiencing the effects of wind and gravity, and marksmanship testing. The Qualification Training Range (QTR) is a standard design 500 x 1500 meter down range target area with an up-range operations control area (ROCA). The QTR range is used to train and test soldiers on skills necessary to detect, identify, engage and defeat stationary and moving infantry, as well as stationary/moving armor targets. The buildings/ROCA areas for both the KDR and the QTR contain a range control tower, operations/storage building, classroom building, ammunitions breakdown building, latrine, bleacher enclosure, covered mess and building information systems.
